Let's see:
Remove the shift lever that has the shift detents on it on the starboard side of the powerhead. Should be just one bolt. Disconnect the kill switch. Disconnect the riser that goes from the throttle gear on the port side of the motor to the armature plate that rotates under the flywheel when you twist the throttle. Remove all the bolts that secure the powerhead to the midsection. Remove the fuel line that goes to the fuel pump. Remove the carburetor (if electric start, you'll have to remove the starter first) and the choke knob and such. If it has the primer knob instead of the choke, remove it, being EXTREMELY careful you don't break off any plastic fuel line nipples and such. I believe at this point it should lift off the base. You'll tear the powerhead base gaskets and have to scrape the surfaces off nice and clean. I believe all you will need are some new powerhead base gaskets. It's not bad, and I don't think you'll need a manual to do it if you're mechanically inclined. Post pics or questions as you go.
