Stereo System Upgrade Need Help

Soon my Bayliner will be out of the storage, i'm trying to comeup with what would I need to setup 6 x speaker stereo system. Now would car speakers be ok? What kind of amplifier should I buy if I'm running 6 x speakers but no sub... Also, what do you guys use to cut holes for the speakers?

Speakers are something that you are going to want to be weather proof. They will be taking the most damage from moisture, UV, dust, etc.. I would not recommend car speakers. You don't have to go out and purchase JL Audio's, however I would find Marine Grade speakers at a minimum for your system.

Is your stereo going to be exposed to the elements or is it in a cuddy/cabin? Same with the amp?

If you want an amp, go with a 6 channel.

Dremel tool will work for the cutout. Be sure to mask off the whole area, trace your cutout over the masking tape and then cut. It will help with chipping the gel coat. Take your time and have a shop vac ready.
