I do see in the service manual they have a kit to drill out and install access plugs to r&r the square/square lever with the motor installed....guess I'll have to dig deeper....

He may be referring to the exhaust 'bellows'. If it's just a tube, then it's the old V8 style and should NOT be used on that engine....

why should that not be used? it is just a tube, as you describe. seems to work fine tho
