Not a problem at all... Just connect your trim pump directly to the battery if it isn't already.

That would be near impossible on my Volvo without performing major surgery to the wire harness.

Nah... Just remove power from the pump and run new power from the batt... No major surgery needed.

If you have a MerCruiser outdrive, the MerCruiser switch is really nice. It already has bullet connectors on it that allow you to add it in very simply. No cutting/splicing of wires. Could not be much easier.

The reason I brought up the switch is because once you have it, there is pretty much no reason to not put the drive down when parking the boat, no matter how long it will sit there. Even if I didn't think it there was an issue with the bellows, I'd still put the drive down everytime for other reasons.

I'll probably even put one in my little CVX18 once I figure out how to do it without drilling into that pretty metalflake gelcote.

That is one thing I miss about my outboard (I just got this boat, first I/O) is the trailer button on the motor. Glad to hear there is a plug n play solution. I wanted to install one, but didn't want to do major wiring surgery

Extra switch is fine, also easy enough to stand on fender and grab the throttle switch in most runabouts.

Except you have no idea where the drive is until the skeg crashes into the concrete .

On mine the fender is about even to the back bench seat. I need a step ladder to get to the controls from the outside.

My remote buttons are on the horizontal part of my transom within a foot or two of the outdrive. Easy to access from either inside or outside the boat. If I had to do it all over again, I'd still put them right where they are.

Crashes? Yours must move faster than the one I had. Thankfully no more outdrives for me.

Maybe pretty easy to hook up an aftermarket keyless entry type of remote with a couple relays.
