Has anyone done a stern drive to jet conversion? Is it cost effective? Performance gains? Can a jet drive handle more R.P.M's than a typical stern drive? I am clueless on jet drives, but am looking at all options... Any info (opinions) whether good or bad would be appreciated......

I have only considered it for an outboard, were the boat would be designed for shallow river running. Props are more efficient than jets, such that it takes more hp to get the equivelent of what your prop does. For outboards, it was around 20% more hp, not sure on stern drive. Can't see how it would be cost effective.
