Sterndrive swap?

I bought a 96' Reinell hull, and then I found a 92' engine, transom & sterndrive. I already put the engine in, I know I need a Alpha one Gen II transom so I sold my Alpha one Gen I transom. I have not bought the Alpha One Gen II transom yet. My question is can I use my Gen I sterndrive with the Gen II Transom that my boat requires?

Nope,... They will Not marry together...

Btw,... How the 'ell did you install the motor, without a transom assembly,..??
The motor bolts To it...

I have the inside Transom plate. I just don't have the outside transom and Gimbal.

*Still scratching head* - You can't install the inner transom plate without the outer portion. Are you saying all you are missing is the bell housing and outdrive?
