Yawn, scratch, itch, sniff....... yep it's time. Time to wake up and start the search for my Winter of 09-10 project boat.

I'm picking up a 1993 Merc V135 tonight so I must have a boat to go with it.

I'm on the hunt for a 18-21 Glass or Tinny. Watch this saga unfold, I'll be changing my signature line to include this thread and the engine thread.

Could be Rick, I picked up the 135 tonight or rather had it delivered and took it off his boat in my driveway. Nice guy too, helped all the way. I've got a thread on that somewhere over in the Merc Outboard stuff.

Steve maybe you should try out that 135 on your monark. I know the 150 was to much for her but the 135 might be just right :D. Whats odd is the Starcraft 18' Supersport was rated for up to 150 HP ? kinda odd that 150 was to much for yours. EZ was looking at one yesterdaay and I did a little digging and it was rated for 150 weird.

I know what you mean but what you have to remember is that the 150 Yami is a beast and all decked out an wet it gets really close to 500lbs. It has plenty of horsepower but the RPM rise is much slower than any two stroke or even the Yami 115 for that matter. That was something that was never discussed when I bought it and I know better now.

The E-Tec goes out at 360-390. I'm hoping I to pick up the boat on the way home tonight. I'm going to the lake on Sunday and I'll trial run it. It'll be just me so no video's yet.

As for the V135, now that I have two junk motors I have to come up with a plan for turning trash to cash and finance my winter 09-10 resto project. Ultimately, I'd sell the Mariner for a decent price and pay for a full on resto of the 135. Depending on what I find for a resto I'll either put the E-tec or the 135 on it. Whichever one it is will determine what I put on the F/S before I sell it. I will be bringing the F/S to the festival this spring so I gotta have a good runner on it.

Try an old Whaler for a challenge.

You may wind up breaking even when it's done?

You might just be on to something there. I've never had one or even been in one but I've never ever heard anything bad about them. In fact, everything I've heard say's they are the cat's meow.

They have a "unique" construction.

Good luck on your project - whatever it is!
