Sticking throttle

1976 Johnson 75HP. Throttle is sticking when put in throttle up position it will not idle back down when cable moved to neutral.

Is the cable sticking from the controls or is it the motor? If it's the cables try lubing them up a bit and see if they still get stuck. If it's the motor look to see if all your connections down there are tight.

If the motor, the timer base may be sticking and need cleaning and re-lube
