Throttle jammed open the other day, but managed to get it going again with some brute force.

I've traced the fault to the Carb linkage/butterfly valves on one or more of the carbs.

I've got these working again with the use of some WD40 penetrating spray.

My question is will I need to strip the carbs to identify the problem (loads of work), can I just keep spraying the WD40 as part of the weekly maintenance, or is there a better way? The spring pressure on the throttle cam is quite heavy (one spring/carb x 4 carbs) can I ease this?

Keep on Ribbing

Andy

The spring should be tight! Are you sure that it is not in the control box or your shift cables?

Yep, I'm sure. Disconnected every thing and have new control cables anyway.

Definatley the throttle linkage at the carbs.
