Re: Stiff Steering!

[..IMPORTANT: Before installing steering cable in tilt tube, lubricate entire cable end with Quicksilver 2-4-c Marine lubricant.
and also to lubricate inside of tilt tube with the same lubricant.

thats what it says in the owners manual for lube..
I took mine out on the water on monday and its awsome....except for at high speed, when it always turns to the right....that seems to be a problem that will not go away...

Your exhaust shnout might be off a little bit. It acts as a rutter for the boat. If it turns to the right adjust it a little to the right and that should fix it. Or maybe your skag is bent a little. Either way adjusting the shnout should fix it at high speeds. Mine was doing the same thing.

Re: Stiff Steering!

Hello ya'll,

I have a 89 Suzuki 140 DT on a 19.5 ft center console. I have been rebuilding the boat, haven't even gotten it on the water yet. Just about ready, but have noticed the steering is getting worse as it sits covered.

Would anyone have picture of the "grease" nipple that i shouldn't be putting grease in and how do i remove that marine grease that i have already put in it ?

Thanks !
