Stiif / Rigid Steering on my 2003 Stratos

Hi Folks,

I have a 2003 19' Stratos Fish n Ski combo with a Yamaha 130 outboard 2 stroke on it. The steering is super stiff and worse at high speeds. Does anyone know what a trouble shoot problem or fix might be? Thank you in advance for support. PK

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... Probably the most common problem with an outboard is not keeping the cable well lubed where it goes through the tilt tube, which leads to a corrosion issue,.....

Check the cable. May need new cable and helm

thank you. was able to grease the locations for the steering. seems better but wont know until i get it in the water.
