I have had a chance to run my new SS prop!

The original prop on the boat was the aluminum 14 X 23
I bought a Stiletto 14 1/4 X 23 and the results are in!

This prop is MUCH better suited for the boat as I was able to get the motor to go up to 5K RPM and possibly more, BEFORE the throttle would be at max position. It would be damn near to the full open position but yet there was still room to push it more.

The boat RAN great with the stock prop doing 52 MPH at around the 4900 / 5000 RPM range. A tad higher then manufaturer spec but nothing serious. I decided to go SS just because I could afford to at this time not because I even felt the boat wasnt performing as best it could and now Im beside myself!

The Stilletto gets on plan super fast, about 1/2 as fast as the stock prop and if any thing was all I was expecting to improve on. I can now max out the throttle and the motor will run up to right around 4800 RPM and at that point the boat is litterly flying! My top speed last night in pretty much ideal water conditions was right around 53~barely 53 1/2 but I'll bet on a lake thats glass smooth I can get it to do close to 55 :)

The motor is or at least seems to be turning this prop without any effort and is quiet and smooth. Its pretty close to being fully broken in now and is has been quieting down that much more each time I go out. Not that its runing rough but at least in my head it seems to sound quieter, I think you know what I mean I cant explain it.

Im getting more bow lift and my trim range seems to be a bit more broader. Before it seemed that the boat would be on plane at full trim up position but now its just below full up since the prop is doing more work at differant tim angles, and is a lot more stable and as of last night there was verry little bounce, granted the lake was moving and there were only like 4 boats running around when I was out there so in a choppy lake I do expect to have more control.
Ultimatly keeping the same pitch prop as stock once it was proven to be the right blade and going to a slightly bigger prop has over all given me more top speed and more advantages then I would have thought I was going to acheive by going to an SS prop. Mabe thats why this is the
STILETTO ADVANTAGE II SS Prop!

I had the same results when I put one on my 89 Baja Force 216. I went from a 19 pitch aluminum 3 blade to a 20 pitch SS Stiletto 4 blade and was amazed at the changes. From a reduced plane to to an increase in top speed to amazing handling in the corners.

Well sir, I guess you are experiencing all that stuff that Dhadley talks about all the time, including increased performance from thinner blades.

And, from what you said, it looks like you will do as I did (as what happened to me) and have indicated numerous times, and that is, getting the right prop can increase your mph AND your rpm's (depending of course, upon your situation).
