Good luck with the repair! Thought I would chime in since it seems to be a Wisconsin only thread. I actually made the switch from IO to OB. With my limited handyman skills the OB is cheaper and easier to maintain(your mileage my vary).
I agree with the small shops. I use Amherst Marine and have always been taken care of fairly.

I see your up in wisconsin rapids, i have my land and do all of my boating on lake camelot just south of you. Have you heard anything about evensons marine, because that's where i'm going to have it winterized for under 200. Which is a great deal, because where i live just north of milwaukee they want close to 600.

I haven't heard anything bad about them. They've been there quite awhile.

I used to live in Barton and took my boat to CLS once in a moment of weakness. I have NOTHING good to say so I'll say nothing other than they had the boat for an eternity and never fixed the problem I ended up fixing in 2 hours. The other dealer down the road is no better. They act like they're doing you a favor to grace you with their service.

I know what your saying, i usually go to cls for parts as part of the clean-up process when i first got the boat and they don't seem to care too much about you unless your purchasing a new boat. And the bayliner dealer your rite is no better. That's why i thought that the place in nekoosa seemed pretty good. The owner and his son went out of there way to help me out with a couple of issues that i had when questioning the dealer that was working on my boat.
