CHECK YOUR GROND WIRES FROM THE BATTERY TO THE MOTOR YOU GOT A BAD CONNECTION THERE SOME WHERE

its warm again and i am buying a new battery and ginna check my wires. . also gonna take off the starter and replace the plugs tomarrow. . I will keep posting. . thanks guys

Well, I got my engine started finally. . . . . . . . . . . . not sure thats a real good thing. . . . .Turned it over with the muffs on and water started coming out . . a round steel cap popped out then water came out I should say. . this cant be good. . any help on what needs to happen to fix this. . Is this a sign of a cracked block or a neat lil trick that the motor does to save retards like myself from very expensive engine work????????? any help thanks

Me again. . . well after some research, I now know they are called frost or freeze plugs. . So now the next question. . How do i go about getting that back in the hole or if i need to buy a new one, or what is involved?

Just tap it back in.<br />If it does not fit tight get another one.<br />The freeze plugs are designed to prevent the block from cracking.<br />They are suppose to pop out before the block cracks if there is ice forming in the block.<br /><br />Who did your winterizing for you???<br /><br />How did you get your engine started??

To replace the freeze plug you use a hammer and a tool that fits it right and allows you to pound it well. Sometimes a socket and extention can be used yet not actually recomended.<br /><br />There is also a bolt in type (freeze plug)available at the auto parts store. Just take the old one down there and match it up. Those type are just held in place with one hand and tightened with the other.
