i have a 60 hp evinrude there is no kill switch that i can see and all the grounds are good the little black ignition box has some corrosion around where the wires are I WANT MY SPARK!!
well i went and looked at the motor where is the serial number located i looked all over the only thing i found was on the flywheel it said 1969 v4 -> / b
I am asuming when you say spark you have seen all four plugs spark with your own eyes. Just because it fires don t mean you have spark enough to operate the beast
i took the flywheel off and sanded down the points and steel wooled it um i used a current tester for the coil and im getting no feedback so i think its the coil?
I had to replace the coils on the last 2 motors I had. You can often tell a bad coil fairly easy as they are cracked and corroided. Often you can see where they are arcing to ground. I use 1000 grit sand paper to lightly clean the points.
