I have a brand new Toro 2 stroke snowblower. It works awesome and I think it's ideal for my property with the amount of snow my area typically receives. Unfortunately it stinks to high heaven. I'm using the little bottle of Toro 2 stroke oil that it came with mixed with 1 gallon of gas as directed. When I go to buy some additional oil, is there any kind I can get that will reduce the stink? I know that synthetic 2 stroke outboard oil is suppose to reduce smoke and smell for outboards (although I haven't tried it yet), is there something similar available for outdoor power equipment?

How about a simple solution........ a clothes pin

Get some Klotz oil from your local sled/bike/hi-po 2 stroke shoppe many love the smell and say its smokeless. There are scented 2 stroke oils but not gonna be cost effective for the Toro I dont think.

I use Citgo Sea & Snow in my sled and love the classic 2 stroke smoke and smell. Engines rule.

Yes. They use that oil in the sprint car's and a very familiar smell at the races.

I still think a clothes pin is the more appropriate visual picture in my mind........ ez with a clothes pin blowing the snow from his driveway :D Darn I am evil today!!

Ez you could get an electric one, or a 4 stroke or covert it to diesel and burn bio diesel and it will smell like french fries!!

Klotz makes Benol which has the smell you mention. Mix Benol with 110 octane and I will snowblow your driveway for you just to smell it!

I bet I have the same snowblower, it's a 2 stroke Toro. My Toro dealer turned me on to Stihl Two Stroke low smoke oil. (yup chainsaw oil) No smoke, hardly any smell. Comes in little premeasured bottles too. Good stuff!

Re: Stinky 2 stroke snowblower

I mixed a can of Benol for the Evinrude last summer. I smiled every time we backed away from the dock because it smelled so good. But......the ole girl didn't care for it much. It loaded up and stalled out alot. So I went back to the trusty marine oil and all was back to normal.

Never tried it in chainsaws or weedwackers. Could make lawn care more enjoyable!

I buy the high test Stihl oil by the gallon (every few years). Use it in everything except the boat.

It's JASO FC or better. Chain saws last till they get run over by a truck or a tree.

It's that other "mod" that keeps trolling me that's the problem! :D

I agree about the reminding me of boating smell but this thing STINKS. Thanks for the recommendations.
