they wanted it bad, padlocked coupler, 500lb tongue weight, with tongue on the ground, no tongue jack. also is really was a junk boat. that i had remove the motor, all the got was mess of a hull, and an $300.00 trailer. which in Florida, all they have to do is right a bill of sale. trailers are not titled.

Maybe they used this one for practise. I hate hearing these stories though.

Re: stolen boat

You still would rather get rid of an old boat on your terms instead of a thug saying he wants it more than you do

Re: stolen boat

Sorry to hear that TD. I sympathize with you. Went through the same type of stuff when I lived around the corner from you. Automatic gunfire at the end of my driveway, things being stolen, sketchy people.....What really sucks the most is that side of town used to be really nice 20 years ago.

Chin up, I used to have to think to myself that "it wasn't important, and no one got hurt". Granted if I could have found the people I would have broken their necks. LOL

Sorry to hear that TD, that would bother me, if they took the junk when are they coming back for the good stuff. Be careful, keep the gun loaded and drag the dead body inside and clean up the mess out side before you call the law. That is what a couple of local law enforcement people have told me in the past.

That's right TD gotta love the Florida Castle Doctrine:

The Florida "Castle Doctrine" law basically does three things:

One: It establishes, in law, the presumption that a criminal who forcibly enters or intrudes into your home or occupied vehicle is there to cause death or great bodily harm, therefore a person may use any manner of force, including deadly force, against that person.

Two: It removes the "duty to retreat" if you are attacked in any place you have a right to be. You no longer have to turn your back on a criminal and try to run when attacked. Instead, you may stand your ground and fight back, meeting force with force, including deadly force, if you reasonably believe it is necessary to prevent death or great bodily harm to yourself or others. [This is an American right repeatedly recognized in Supreme Court gun cases.]

Three: It provides that persons using force authorized by law shall not be prosecuted for using such force.

It also prohibits criminals and their families from suing victims for injuring or killing the criminals who have attacked them.

Re: stolen boat

A few years back my Uncle's friends had a real nice bbq stolen from their back deck one night while they were out. Two weeks later it was returned with and apology letter and two tickets to the Toronto Blue Jays baseball game. So TD, there maybe some hope for your boat to return yet. However, while they were gone to the ball game, because the tickets were for a certain date, they came home after the game and their house was completely gutted out. Not a stick of furniture left. I like that Castle Doctrine idea much better that FB was tellin you about. lol.

Re: stolen boat

what sucks is that i had, had a hard day and went to bed at 9:00, Tasha with me. Tony, my helper drove by to pick his wife up from work, at 10:10 the boat was gone. it was outside the fenced area. the owner was suppose to pick it up that afternoon.

thanks goodness they did not hold me responsible. i had followed there instructions, and locked the trailer with their lock.

Re: stolen boat

sorry to hear it TD. Anyone that's been robbed knows that even if the stuff taken wasn't all that valuable, it's a crappy feeling. I came home from work one day years ago to find my house ransacked. Everything taken was easily replaceable with insurance, but I was sleeping with one eye open for a while after that.
