Well I may have stole one.............Kinda got the never can get rid of it boat-bug virus again after being boat-less for ONE season. Yeah the PWC's (#20 plus) are fun...but, it ain't no real boat. I had cash in-hand and a budget of 5k. Here in Na. Ga., surrounded by Lanier, the Craigslistings, and Traders full of stuff. Some rotted junk, some decent buys. The decent buys can be gone in an hour of it listing.
After spending weeks looking and trolling C/L listings. I came across and hour-old listing for a 1993 Four-Winns 190 Horizon, "Need to sell, needs fiberglass-work on transom" called the guy and asked why does it need F/G work?? You hit something??, "No, it has a leak and I have a wife and 4 boys and don't want it to sink on us" Told him I'll be there in less than an hour.
It was dark when I got there, took a drop-light and went over it as best as I could. It is what I call a "rain-boat", been in the weather with a non-dry factory cover, sun-pad wood rotten on the port-side, leg bolster on the rear-bench rotten, Floors and bucket-seat mounts solid. He had no muffs so I fired-it up dry...........No knocks or strange noises..........He wanted 2500.00, I offered 2, we settled on 22.
The "leak" ????? Driveshaft bellows- One transom seal kit later and no more leak........Fingers-crossed.............Got some open seams in the upholstery, probably due to Clorox....She's gonna clean-up nice!! No sanding this time, just a little buffing.......
