I have a 1989 Johnson 225. I had to recently replace the stator. Engine quit running and had the insulation coil meltdown. I now have spark but I have to disconnect the blk/yell wire from the shift interrupt switch or with blk/yell wire connected the motor will run with main harness, red plug, disconnected. The shift interrupt does test o.k. I replaced the key switch thinking it was the problem, not so. thanks in advance for any suggestions. Not sure if this is related but I do not have current at my choke primer now. Current is at choke terminal at ignition switch.

Go to the top secret files at the beginning of this forum and look up wiring diagrams. You should find you motor in there.
