Stop the rain PLEASE!!!

Okay, in January it stopped snowing. It killed the snowmobile season. We anticipated a good Spring and then we set new RAINFALL RECORDS in April, May and now June is moving up fast. It is killing the motorcycle, ATV and boating season!!!

We are getting flooded (not in a Katrina way) and it is killing our crops. What really burns me is that the farmers are going to get financial aid for the flooded crops.... what about the other business' that depend on decent weather?

OMC I see you are in a Flood Warning Area once again this morning.

Please stop the rain.

You can't believe how frustrating this sort of topic is to me, but I can understand the damage something like this must mean to your communities.
We are in either 6/7 yr of the opposite. They say worst drought since records were started. Down to no more hoses allowed anytime, real short showers, clean teeth with a glass of water etc.
I am preparing to make this place self sufficient in water, as in using the Grey water (from sink/shower/laundry) to be recycled back in to the toilets. Going to stink a bit but if it comes to that, and I have a plan in place, with the equipment, it will beat digging a hole in the yard.
So know the feeling Bob VT, just in reverse, that's all, and I know how devestating/depressing it can be.
I just know it will be better next year.

Maybe the subsidies are because food is a necessity?.......
Especially maple syrup!......
I would think that white water rafting might not be a necessity......
It does suck that some places are getting drowned, while others are in drought, though.....

I just spoke with my Mom in Upstate NY and she has water in her house up to her knees. She lives on a lake with 25 others. They won't open the flood gates below her because they don't want to flood a more populated are. The lake hasn't flooded in over 200 years. She is about to lose most everything and of course no flood insurance. She told me they are expecting even more severe rain today and tomorrow.

Say a prayer for her and all those that will suffer great losses from all this rain.

I wish I was there to help her clean up the mess and get her life back in order.:'(

LF, I'm saddened to hear of your ma's sufferings, i hope that the standing water drains away real soon before severe waterborne problems sets in.

LF the NY rain is moving towards VT. I just pray that the weather systems settle. My prayers to your Mom and her situation. We are all going to survive this, we always do.

It's all so frustrating for everyone. My folks who live in Central, FL are praying for rain!

Yeah....here in the north east....we might of had one dry year in the past 10 years.The past three sring and summers have been nothing but rain....sometimes it rains for two weeks straight.......then maybe 2-3 nice days....then back too rain.
Makes it fun when you work construction.
