i hove two ways to do this,,

1. stor it in the cabin and when main breaks mount to transom, which is light80 pounds and easy to do from boat...no worry about it being stolen, no worry about it falling off, wont have to stay in the "up" position all the time.

2. mount it on the transom that way i can test run it every now and then, will be able to use it for slow speed cruising, conviently there wont have to mount if needed.

so should i mount to transom and leave it in up
position or STOR it in the cabin ?, which i have plenty of room in the 21 footer.

BIGKASH - Let me see if I can help you answer your own question. Lets say you are a good way out in the Gulf. Cloudy day, waves moderate, main engine running OK. Fish ain't bitin so stop for a beer & lunch. Go to start and guess what? - - Turn key and nothing - - Spend next half hour fiddlin & cussin - - heavy duty line of thunderheads commin out of nowhere - - waves pick up before you notice - - boat starts pitchin wildly. Where whould you rather have the kicker - on the transom or in the cabin?
