Storage options without a tower?

The ski locker on our Cobalt is filled with skis and ropes and was wondering if there are any storage racks or other options for stowing our wakeboard and kneeboard without having to install a tower?

Thanks
Bill

I see alot of of board racks on the market, but they all have the clamps that fit larger diameter tubes like one would expect on a tower. I would like to be able to mount one on the smaller tubes like grab bars and stern rails. Anyone?

That's pretty slick. I was considering replacing one side of my tower with a slolam ski rack but will look at one of these instead.:)

Re: Storage options without a tower?

Wanna see the hillbilly solution I invented for my 16 year old 18 foot runabout? I spent approx $5 on rubber bungee cords and bimini eye loops, raided my spare parts bin for a couple old snowmobile ski spindle bumpers and a hunk of an old rubber mudflap, and installed them with leftover stainless hardware I had in a location where they wouldn't be too obtrusive...right on the tip of the bow.

It only holds one board, but it's super secure (even when the bow is crashing over the REAL wakeboaters wakes), out of the way, easy to access, and doesn't interfere with bow seating, docking, or trailering.

Was the result of brainstorming last winter with a buddy and a few beers...after a summer of tripping over the board laying in the bottom of the boat. And I'd have to say this is one of the best things we've ever done to this boat in terms of benefit per dollar! And now it would seem I saved $395 compared with the option above (which does look incredibly slick, though a bit more cash than a cheapo like me would want to spend on my $3,000 boat.)

First pics show board in place and last pic shows how it looks when board is removed:

I installed two racks for less than $15. I have an 84 larson runabout. I bought two ladder hooks that you use to store ladders in your garage. Two regular screws in each one and tie downs and much more enjoyment when out on the water. A guy isn't tripping over things and having to maneuver than big wakeboard is a pain.

what would be pretty nice, is some hooks like these on a larger scale. OR some hooks that you could swing to the side so they dont stick out as far when no tin use. Anyone ever seen something like that?
