Storing Evinrude e-tec

I have a 2004 Evinrude 75 HP E-tec with 20 hrs on it. Just bought this summer.
I winterised it as per manufactures instruction using the automatic fog system. Filled the fuel tank and added stabil. Ran it with it in for a few minuts before the fogging procedure.
I canot fully tilt the motor down without touching the ground. Is this a problem for gear case seals? Should I leave it partially tilted? Is this ok for the power trim system?
I canot use the tailor tilt position lock because this uses too much room in my garage.
Thanks for any feed back on this.
Phil.

Re: Storing Evinrude e-tec

Phil, you really need to store the engine all the way down - this lets all the water drain, and keeps the trim and tilt rods inside their cylinders. If you can't keep the skeg off the garage floor just by lowering the front of the trailer, then consider a pair of jack stands - they're good for avoiding flat spots in the tires too.

The only other thing I would mention is to add the Stabil before your last time out - it takes a long time to get it into the engine running at idle.

Thanks Tedious for the jackstand idea. That's just the solution I needed. As for running with stabiliser for a while, its too late now, the river's frozen but I will remember next year. Thanks for the advice.
Phil.
