You need the remote control adapter kit for your motor. What year is it?

EDIT: go to Evinrude and click on Parts. Select OB Accessories from the drop-down list where it defaults to Evinrude. Select your year and kit.

EDIT EDIT: Actually, it takes two kits, one for remote controls, and one for steering.

Is it hi-jacking if I'm trying to do the same thing but can't find my year? I have a 1957 Johnson FD-11. The motor has all the bracketry and stuff. Just need to know if the proper setup was cable or if I have other options.
