Strange List to Port

Hi everyone. I finally got my " 65 "Cobia 20DB into the water and out for a test run. When it gets up to around 25mph at 4500rpm the boat takes a list to port that is very noticeable and sudden. It starts a bit of a port side turn which I have to correct to keep a straight line. Anyone have any ideas what would cause this. I am running a Johnson 1983 115 with a 15 pitch prop for now but will be upgrading to a 21 or 23 pitch ( wit the 15 pitch wot is around 8500 ) so alot more pitch is needed. Also I balanced the load in the boat, batteries, fuel, my grandson, me etc so the weight distribution was pretty much eliminated.

Re: Strange List to Port

does it have a whale tail (hydofoil) on the vent. plate? if it does. loose it....
to compensate for steering pull. adj. the trim tab under the vent plate a little at a time in the direction of the steering pull...... ie. pulls to port, adj. back of tab to port to compensate....

Exactly ^^^^ and hold on for the prop change, I'd verify that tach before I got too far . . .

raevin,

if you scroll to the bottom of this page, there are "similiar topics" that should be able to answer your questions as well...

same thing happened to me and everybody here helped me correct it... shouldn't be too much more than outdrive trim and trimtab corrections
