Stratos 201 FS

Just bought a 1996 Stratos 201 FS. Never had a bass/Fs boat before, so forgive me this question, but next to the shifter and at the back of the boat, there is a switch(one in each place), it says up/dn, what does this switch do. I can hit it, and I here a click? Also, when you turn the key on, the volt meter pegs out, and the trim meter pegs all the way down? Thanks guys, Tim

Those switches are either for your trim or for a jack plate. A jack plate will raise and lower your motor in a verticle plane. A trim adustment tilts your motor forward and backwards eventually tilting it up for trailering.
