stringer dilemma

Hi , I'm a newbie. Long time reader, first time poster........

Today, I drilled some small holes in the stringers on my 24' Wellcraft Airslot Fisherman. I encountered wet shavings from the bottom of stringer up to 2-3". Big and beefy stringers but still discouraging. The shavings were white, not a rot color. This was encountered from about 7' back from the stern. No wet shavings under cuddy. I am already planning on re-doing transom, have already pulled motor and transom assembly.
My questions are:

1.- The glass etc is extremely solid with no delamination. Do I still have to pull the stringers out?

2.- Pulling the cap of this walkaround cuddy will be very intense and gnarly. Is there a possibility of scabbing/sistering up new stringers alongside original ones? esp. if the wetness is only up to a certain area and not the whole length of the boat?

Is there a possibility of cutting up floor, cutting the top layer of glass of stringer, dig out wood and pour seacast or similiar and glassing and repairing floor?

I have read several threads on this, it just seems that my stringers are not shot, just wet. please help with any suggestions...

much thanks.

Re: stringer dilemma

Welcome to Iboats m8 ..

I would say if there not rotted out then dont replace them.

Moisture does not conclude OMG rotten failure dangerous etc.

Its when the wood Fails is where you would want to get in there and start cuttin and redecking.

YD.
