Wow, the final word about this boat is suppose to come on the same day as the Idol winner is announced. Not that I care about what David won (I don't). But I am sure there are hundreds of folks waiting that report from baineyg like me. This is better than a reality show!

(In the voice of the movie announcer guy) In a world of broken boats and impatient boaters all around the country, word will soon come that could turn the boating community upside down. Will baineyg get the prize of a new hull? Will he get his tank of gas back? Will he be boating this weekend? Will Tahoe gain or lose respect of thousands of potential buyers? Will Brittney go back to rehab? Will dogs and cats live together... sorry, got carried away! :redface:

I have my boat!!! It has a new hull, new carpet, new boat cover, new cover suspension system (for the cover). It has the original top half and motor/outdrive. I went straight from BPS to Division of Wildlife to get replacement registration stickers. It looks awesome, super clean. The hull has a different layout under the motor. Some of the plugs have moved. They fixed all the cracks that were in the bow floor area too. That's just looking at it. I've only had it a few hours and need to really check it out. That's the fast update. Once I get some internal pics i'll post them.
Oh, the trolling motor is in Oklahoma, Guess they forget to take it out of the shipping truck. They'll ship it out on the next shipment.

I think they saved a huge amount of face. I'm also very glad for bainyg because I think he deserved to get a new hull and he can now go boating without freaking out every time he hears a "funny sound" in the boat.

As to why Tahoe wouldn't tell him what they obviously knew weeks ago ... namely, that they were going to put a new hull under the boat ... I have to wonder what sort of rocket scientists are running that company.

I'm still not buyin any boats from them!


PS: When you get a chance (go enjoy the weekend for now!), I would be very interested in hearing how your Wildlife & Fisheries Dept. handled the fact that it has a new hull number. Did you have to pay sales tax again or pay any other fees associated with a "new boat?"

It has the same Hull #. Some how they Etched the # in the new hull. It still has the paper over the #.
There was barely any gas. I just went to the gas station and tried to fill it up. Guess what. Who ever put it together thinks fluid flows upward. I had to reroute the fuel line through the cutout for the fuel line. They put it over the battery wall in the engine compartment. Took it back to the gas station and works fine now.
I hope that's the only mistake I find.

glad you got the boat sorted ,

$4 for a gallon of gas , you want to think yourself very lucky over in the UK we
are now paying the equivalent of $10.50 a gallon and it goes up nearly every day
