I see no reason why that boat cant be repaired, if done correctly of course, which I assume is a total gutting of it. Looks like it would be a nice boat finished.

I agree with JasonJ. If you don't have constructive input, say it to yourself no one wants to read it. No reason to be condeseding to people.

But I have been in a situation where I didn't want to fix it correctly. But I did and I am glad I did so. I won't have to worry about it again.

Most of the guys here are awesome and will give you solid advice. I have learned to listen to them.

Truths about boat repair.

1. The rot goes further than you think
2. The quick fix is only in your mind. In the boat it's a waste of time and money. It's a way to tell yourself that you did something about the problem so that you can forget the problem.

Another universal boat repair truth that should be self-evident, but sometimes need reminding...

3) If you can't or won't have the boat fixed properly the first time, sell it and buy another boat that does not need any work. A boat with serious issues can put yourself and others in danger.

That looks like a sharp little boat and would be well worth the time and energy spent doing it right.

- Scott

Roboat,

That fiberglass boat will probably outlast the wood boat, and require a lot less maintenance.

I bet if you patch it up, in a few years you will want to do it right and make it a "keeper".

But for now I see nothing wrong with a quick patch job to get you on the water.

Its a sharp looking boat.
