can formed plastic be used instead of wood and can they be fiberglassed in ? thanks

No. They should be wood or structural foam board. Neither epoxy or polyester resin still well to plastic. The easiest is plywood. Encapsulate the wood with epoxy and glass it to the hull. you can make box stringers out of fiberglass so you dont have to use wood, they are basically a inverted fiberglass "U" glassed onto the inside of the hull. you almost have to make some wood ones anyway to use for molds tho...

scrumbler, how many layers of glass would you recommend for that? how many mat, how many roving? thanks!
