Stringers and deck finally done

Looking at a carpeted boat makes the last 3 months of work seem worth it. After a lot of sweat, itching, swearing, Woodchucks and such, I installed the carpet today. I just might have this on the water this weekend!

And to top it off, I had it running yesterday. Of course a new fuel tank and outdrive took that much more cash from my pocket, but hey, it would not be right without the road blocks.

All I can say again is I sure would have not got to this point without you guys on this forum. For everyone else just starting a project like this, keep at it. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. :)

The deck consists of 1/2 inch cabinet grade ply, 1.5 oz matt, 8 oz cloth, poly resin.
The stringers are 3/4 ply, .75 matt, 24 oz roven and poly.
The carpet is the indoor/outdoor from Home Depot, glued in with carpet adhesive. Everything is on the shareaproject site.

I am replacing the deck on my deck boat right now and I was wondering what was the square feet of your deck, how much resin you used, and why you used two different types of fiberglass? I am asking these questions because I am not sure how and what to use on the deck of my boat. Thanks in advance.

Re: Stringers and deck finally done

I used poly resin for all of it (about a total of 8 gallons for everything). I used roven for the stringers for the strength, and cloth for the deck because I got it cheap. I used 1 layer of mat and 1 layer of cloth for the deck.

It is late and I am beat, so to give you an idea of square footage, I have a 17 ft. boat. Too tired for the math.
