I have a 1977 Evinrude 115hp outboard. I just finished rebuilding my trim motor and was screwing the last high pressure line into the Hydrolic pump and stripped the aluminum threads. What can I do??? Is there anywhere I can get a new one? can I fix the threads.

Please help, I think the model number is HYB-5001

Those are stainless steel lines , are are quite expensive for what they are. Im not so sure you can re thread them, you will have to order new lines. The heads are especially prone to getting stripped from not using the correct wrench on them.

they can be rethreaded Im sure, but then you would need an adaptor to go from the line to the housing. Ive never had to do that, sorry. Ezeke is quite knowledgeable in trim motors, he may know .

You can probably find a auto brake specialist, have them tap it for their next larger size fitting, probably SAE up to metric.

The pumps are very expensive. You have to know which one you have, Prestollite or Calco.

There is a company in Florida that sells rebuilt ones, maybe someone can provide the name.

I deal with the guy in Florida quite a bit, maxrules.com. Very trustworty and ships asap. One of the only guys around to still sell the old 3 wire motors in a decent price range.
