Your dealer should stock over size plugs or be able to heli-coil your drain hole. Good luck.

Same thing happened to me a couple months ago. I had it heli-colied and everything is A-OK now. I am defintely going to have mine checked once a year now for any leakage...just in case. Good luck!

Go to your dealer and get a replacement drain plug part #09248-12009. It is a longer replacement and will cure your problem. It does however take a different size wrench.

if they heli-coil it be aware the standard heli-coil must be shortened. I think cbsykes went through that one :) . I had to show the kid how to shorten the coil. you also must insure the coil is inseted with a permmanent loc-tite and that the lead thread is just below flush with the hole. not all techs are aware of the proper method of drain plug heli-coiling.

Thanks again Rodbolt! Do you recommend bringing it back in for another gear oil change? Since I last saw you, I have broken the engine in. Thanks.
