I'm not sure which bolt, or bolt's your asking about. Explain a little further.

Are you talking about the threads in the anode?

If I'm not mistaken, that's not an anode, it's the keeper that locks the bearing housing in place. It's hard to tell by the photo, but if there is enough material, drill it out, and put in a thread insert.

drill it out???/ do you mean tap a new thread ........and the manual calls it the anode but your correct in that it is used as a keeper for the housing

the propeller won't spin if i tighten the castalated nut too much. even if i just snug the nut the tighter i turn the harder it is for the prop to spin..........................................
now i lost a bolt in the housing, well half of a bolt. this is getting outta hand i was so close, looking as though i fixed the L/U leak, and WHAM!!!. reassemble and strip one and sheared another.
looks like i'll be in the market for a tap& die set
hardy F'IN har har

Is the castellated nut you're talking about the prop nut? The one that holds the prop on? If it is, you're leaving something off, like the thrust washer.

c/6
Hooty

Is it the same thrust washer you've always used for that prop?

c/6
Hooty

Hmmmmm
Is the prop pushing back against the bearing carrier or is it binding against the housing or can you tell?

c/6
Hooty
