Swapped my 470 out for a 3.0. I cant seem to be able to adjust my teleflex cables to shift both forward and reverse, i can get forward, i can get reverse, but not both on the same shift, closest i can get is forward to engage right before throttle up, and reverse to grind, its also a little stubborn about hitting neutral corectly. So ... does one have to change cables when changing from the 470 to a 3.0???? Thanks:D

did you replace the shifter to engine bracket cable, or engine bracket to outdrive cable with teleflex.... or both?

i didnt replace any cables, im using the ones that worked off my 470, they fit but there seems to be to much neutral to be able to engage both forward and reverse before throttle up.

Re: stubborn teleflex cables

How common is it for cables to stretch? They are older so i think they may have stretched a bit and thats why i cant engage both gears???? Sounds like something i should just go to the marina for, have it done right as it seems a pain in the butt to get it working perfectly. Tell me what ya think
