Stuck Floats in Merc 115

It's a 1986, 6 cylinder.
The bulb is always firm, and it has plastic floats. I get gas to the carbs but not into the engine. So I removed the bowl cover on the lower carb and found that the bottom of the float had gone above the float pin guide and lodged the float on an angle against the inside of the bowl wall and the top of the gude pin.
It is a new motor to me, could they be the wrong floats, or do the valve seat levers need adjusting, or something else...........................Help please, thanks

You will have to set the float drop as you suspected. The most likely cause is trailering the boat, sometimes it happens, the float just bounces the wrong way and gets caught up.

Hey candu238 I just rebuilt my carbs last month and replaced the original floats with new plastic ones. I had to file the inside of the float on the seams. They were dragging on the center post of the float bowl. I would remove the needle valve and spring before you find out about free movement to prevent damage to the needle. Put the float and fulcrum pin(swivel pin)back in the carb and move it up and down to see if it sticks against the center shaft. The plastic floats have some extra plastic at the seam and can be carefully filed to make clearance. Hope this gives you some help.
