Stuck in QuickStart

What and how do you check to see if engine is stuck in QuickStart ?
2000 90hp J90VLSSS. Thanks if you can help .

Put a timing light on it and see if the timing is bouncing all over at idle. If it is try grounding out the black/white wire going to the port temp sender.

I am only familiar with using on auto #1 plug and flashing on mark on harmonic balancer so on a outboard where do you set the flash on?

I think you need an OMC factory service manual. Will tell all that you need to know.
