Good Morning All,

Working on getting this trim hose off my alpha 1. The hose is blown and needs replacing. Was able to work it out until I ran into the part of the steel portion of the bellows that extends out about a half inch attached to the transom. a standard wrench no longer fits and cant give it the last few spins that it needs to fall.

Anyone run into this problem before?

its the hose facing parallel to 3 oclock seen here.

Additionally I discovered my neutral saftey switch is broken, how necessary is this piece?

I am having trouble locating the replacement part#, im sure its obsolete.

1969 mercruiser 140

Any help would be awesome.

Thanks all

Re: stuck in the gimbal housing, look.

First pull the leg off, then remove both bellows. Using a propane torch, heat the block the line is screwed into. Using small needle-nose vice-grip pliers unscrew the line. Here is a link to Sierra showing the lines you need (I recommend replacing all four while you have it apart). http://www.marineengine.com/parts/s...ngine.com/parts/sierra_marine/sierra00729.htm Sierra dose not have all them available but you can use their part numbers to do a google search to find a source . Good luck, I have been where you are now.
