Thank you all for your very good advice and encouragement.<br /><br />The broken studs came out today without any trouble. I just used more heat around the casing as suggested and didn't rush.<br /><br />My lower unit is now all ready to go back on, all I have to do is source some new bolts. I've been told they are 3/8 UNC bolts, 1 3/8 in length. Most things over here are metric now, but I've found somewhere that has them, so should be able to pick them up in a few days.<br /><br />Thanks again for all the help, I couldn't have done the job without this site and the good people who post on it.<br /><br />Any tips for lining up the gear shift linkage when I come to put it all back together?
