I bought a used F350 that had a hitch ball rusted into the hitch, I used heat, p juice, hammers, everything I could think of and could not get it to come out. I ended up taking the hitch off the truck and using a 60ton hydraulic press to finally get it out. The press was actually straining when the hitch ball let go and bounced about 10 feet off the floor.I don't keep mine in the hitch either. but when they're rusted you don't have to worry about theft.
