Re: student tracking IDs, security vs freedom

I am surprised, but then I am not, that no one has mentioned the Biblical aspect of this. This all is plain and simple a pre-curser to the Mark of the Beast. This prophesy could not have ever been fulfilled without the technology that we are dancing around with.

No doubt. It hasn't been mentioned because we're trying to stay "Iboat forum correct"........

Without mentioning this aspect of the subject at hand, this is a totally pointless post!

I don't think it's a pointless post. I was completely agreeing with your initial post about the Biblical aspect. But we both have been around long enough to know that threads can get locked in a hurry if political/religious subjects are discussed. I believe we're on the same side here. Maybe I'm missing something? I guess I should have made a simple reply like mzahn and just said "yep".........

ps. Here's some popcorn, mzahn......

.... But we both have been around long enough to know that threads can get locked in a hurry if political/religious subjects are discussed. .....

As I asserted then, if we are not allowed to discuss all possible aspects of the subject, the post is pointless!

Re: student tracking IDs, security vs freedom

The notion of now "tracking" our school children, is laughable, to say the least.

When I went to school - 40 years ago, attendance was taken every morning and before start of each class, including lunch and gym. If a student was not where they were supposed to be (trust me I know), school officials, parents and even police (truant officer), were notified, promptly.

Now, since modern technology has enhanced and simplified this process - which is basically the same thing as checking off a student's name, it is now "big brother" moving into our lives.

Really.

FWIW, my kid's now have to wear, good old fashioned "identification cards" (ala post Columbine), around their necks, all day at their schools.

Life is rough.

Maybe only to you.

Most realize what "moderated" means and are willing/able, to discuss from with those confines. ;)
