These kids weren't in a boat, but ya gotta hear this. This happened this past saturday (last of june) while in Jacksonville at my B-i-L's house. We were out on his new bayliner deckboat coming down black creek on our way to the St Johns river. We had just stiopped the boat to get my neice back in and off the kneeboard when I heard some kids screamin for help. I looked down the water a bit from us and saw 8 to 9 kids waving at us screaming. Thinking they were in real trouble we headed over. Turns out the idiots had SWAM..SWAM!! across black creek, now mind you its not really that big, at most 100 yards across but there is a TON of boat traffic through there heading in and out of St. Johns...big ones, small ones, slow ones and fast ones. They needed a ride back across cause they were to scared to swim it. We were already near capacity with 9 people, but I could not in good conscious leave those kids there to swim back. I could not have lived with myself reading about them in the paper the next day! So we loaded them on anyway even though we were way over weight and took them back across to the dock they came from (left their bikes there when they swam over) They told us they were about to swim back if we hadnt helped them. JUST and I mean JUST as we got across and they were getting out. 4 boats came SCREAMING by us. These kids have no idea how close they came to probably losing their lives!!!!
