When you get the new prop drill a 1/16th hole in one of the blades, tie a length of cord through the hole and make it fast to the leg. This way when the prop falls off again you won't loose itd:)d:)d:)

Re: Stupid TROLLING MOTOR trick

which blade, RPJS? 8)

and would ya believe, my batteries charged in half the usual time afterwards!

I have since learned that running the big motor with T/M deployed will sometimes result in this condition. I'm thinking I can counteract this effect by reversing the polarity...

Re: Stupid TROLLING MOTOR trick

Well.

Fishing a small lake with the electric. Wind blew my hat off. Turned the boat around to get the hat and my rod bends over. Stopped the motor before breaking the rod but my fly line is firmly in the prop.

Pull the motor up. Take off the prop nut. Carefully place the nut on top of my tacklebox so I can't lose it. Turn back to get the prop. Bump the motor knocking the prop off into the water.

Never did get my hat back either.

if you have one of the bow mounted ones and you run your gas motor with it deployed it will charge your battery!!

You would have to have it on(switch) for it to put juice back in the battery.
If you are going forward, just put TM in reverse.8)

i saw some guys in a nitro who thought they were big hot shots until... then they tried to move to a new spot and bent their TM shaft about 45 degrees, thats what they get for trying going fast in the no wake.
