what year is this 15 hp evinrude Serial#e0002180 Model 15505c and how does the cooling system work more importantly where is the spitter (stupid ? i know)
Your motor is a 1975 model and the water is discharged below waterline through discharge ports and through the exhaust relief on the rear of motor below cowling.
Watercooled outboards run in the range of 145 to 155 degrees when up to temp with a functioning T/stat.You can obtain a 163 degree temp stik from dealer to keep aboard and inspect periodically by touching to head cover or engine block or simply marking with it and observe whether it melts. If no melt your engine is within temp range.<br /> Rule of thumb is if you can rest your hand against head for several seconds before removing your temp is within range.Guess that would depend on ones threshold for pain.
Bear , I saw that link the other day too and was going to post it for the fella that was asking if you could upgrade a 9.9 to a 15 by changing carbs.Lots of good info there for someone that owns a 9.9 or 15 hp.
