In the process of removing johnson 40hp 2-stroke off my gregor seahawk. Everything is ready to go...except for the steering cable. I can slide it out about 2/3rds of the way, then it just stops. Is there something i'm overlooking, or a trick I don't know about? All help greatly appreciated...Thanks, Bill

Some times you have to move the motor to the side or lift it off the transom to gain the slack needed to clear the tilt tube.

Thanks alot for that tip. I'm thinkin it pulls till it comes up against the turn in the cable. I'll give that a try 2morrow in the am, before the temp gets up to 106 like today. Thanks again...Bill
