As some of you already know I've been having trouble with this '92 Johnson 9.9 J10Rena for about two years. First it was the fuel pump. That got the power back but it wouldn't start using the choke. So I took it apart for the 15th time and reamed the holes with wire. Again idle only. That might be from flattend rubber piece at bottom of carb.
Then I noticed the corner of the top plate was up in the air as shown in the picture. This is the upgraded version. Apparently it didn't prevent warping. The sides look like waves. You would think they could do better than this so we wouldn't have to drill and tap to hold the cap down.
Is there a carburetor substitute? What a piece of junk.
