Hi all What is an acceptable sustitute for omc type M sealant ?

I am just a backyard Mechanic, but I use Permatex Ultra Copper for absolutely everything. Especially when I don't have a gasket, just make sure you give it 20 minutes to set before you assemble.

Watch out for anything containing copper (or graphite) when working with aluminum. The dissimilar metals cause a battery effect and will erode aluminum over time.<br /><br />Marpox Sealer 1000, available at many marine stores, is the same thing as Type M adhesive.
