Well i am glad to say that after many trials i have made it farther with my boat then ever before. now when i turn the key the motor spins very well. however, it wont fire, it will turn all day but wont fire. i have new gas clean carb, so i thought spark plugs and when i checked i have 12 volts to top plug but o to bottom i was assuming this is just because the firing order of the motor is top to bottom anybody with anyhelp would be nice, couldnt check for spark from plug but i had 12 volts at wire and plug is new. thankyou

Re: SUCCESS!...almost

Suggest you buy a Clymer repair manual, and a spark tester.
12v is a indicative of anything. You need a hot blue spark that will jump 7/16 inch.

You should contine with your first thread instead of starting a new one. What did you find wrong with the starter??
