Just wanted to say thanks to all on this forum for all the helpful advise i've gotten over the last year with my 88, 85 hp force. I finally got out this weekend for the first time and after a long winter and all the tuneup and upgrades I could do, the boat ran great. Motor fired up right up, tell tale worked beautifully. Did a decarb last night and let it soak overnight and took it to the lake this morning to run it and it ran smooth as ever - smoked like hell though. Last year, i couldn't get over 4500 rpm and had hard starting issues, now with a new aluminum 17 pitch MW prop and after the carb cleaning, fuel pump rebuild, fuel recirc. cleaning, along wiht a bunch of other stuff, like filters, etc., I'm getting 5200 rpm at WOT and 31 mph with the gps - seems a bit slow on the top speed but I'm ok with that as long as i know the motor is running at the recommended rpm range and sounds good.
Thanks again to all for your invaluable insight and advise - this place is really a huge asset.

Re: Success!!

Great!!!I'm glad it's running good. Max RPM should be 5500 If you wanted you can go down to a 15P and bring the RPMs up.A little better economy and better takeoff.J
