Sucks to be me right now

I'm stuck at home. I was trying to get to the store. My Jeep battery is old and needs to be replaced. It goes flat if I don't use the car for a few days. I haven't driven in several days and it died again and just now my battery charger burned up when I was trying to get the engine started. I need a jump-start!

Those who have met me know about my poor voice due to prior vocal cord surgeries. Well, yesterday I had another one (#5) and right now I can't talk AT ALL. I did text message my ladyfriend, who is not really very tech savvy. Let her know that she could call me and I would use one "pssst" for yes and two for no. So, she called and we FINALLY managed to communicate that she'll come over tonight after work and jump me. Heh.

The problem is that I'm outta ice cream right now and I want some to soothe my aching throat! LOL!

In a similar situation I called a Taxi and had some stuff delivered.

Hard to call a taxi when ya can't talk. LOL

Last year, after my 4th surgery, I was completely mute for 3 1/2 months. Finally healed enough to where I could whisper... then a few months later, it was time for the next surgery.

bwr, it really does suck to be you. i'd offer to help, but i'm aout 12 states away. do you have a neighbor who could help? write them a note? in a pich yogurt?

My next door neighbor is in Canada till late August. My neighbor buddy across the street is at work. Don't worry, I can hold out a couple more hours till my ladyfriend gets here. I'm just whining. Heh heh.

Yogurt... ewwww! LOL!

Thanks. I'm already a member of theirs. Got a speech-amplified phone from them, which makes it possible for others to hear me when my voice does work a little.

I'm hoping that I won't need their teletype service.

I managed to get it started with only 9v in the battery. No jumpstart needed. Drove it around for 20 minutes here and it restarted okay. Drove it up to the store just now and got my stuff... let it run while waiting. Should restart now okay.

I think she's a keeper! We've been dating a couple months now. She actually brought me ice cream... UNASKED... tonight when she came over to help start the Jeep! She didn't even know what I wanted to get from the store.

Yeah, I laid a major hurt on the ol' battery charger. Kept it on 12v 10amp until the charge light turned green. Tried starting the car, but no joy. Switched to 12v 55amp activate/start and it was cranking the engine as best it could... but the voltage suddenly dropped and the charger started making a loud hum, so I unplugged the charger for a minute.

Hooked it back up on 10 amps and it seemed okay, then when I clicked it over to 55amps, SMOKE came out of the charger! Unplugged it FAST! LOL!

Haven't plugged it back in since, but I reckon it's FRIED!

I've got one that's at least 20 years old and still works. At least I think it works.
It's a hummer too.

So hows the GF?

Yeah, mine was over 20 years old too. Maybe close to 30 even.

The ladyfriend went home after just a short visit. Her cats missed her while she stayed over here 3 nights prior to my surgery. LOL
